Spot Cleaning Basics
Act Immediately: The faster you treat a spill, the easier it is to lift.
Blot, Treat Gently: Hard scrubbing can push the stain deeper into the fibers or alter the texture. Blot firmly with a clean, white (undyed) cloth, and follow the cleaning method for your product type.
Test First: Before applying any cleaner, test a small amount on an inconspicuous area to verify colorfastness.
Spot cleaning depends on the product and material. Follow the method for either machine-washable rugs or mats.

For minor spills and stains, use a simple DIY cleaning solution.
DIY solution: Mix 1 teaspoon of mild, clear liquid dish soap with 2 cups of cool water. Avoid colored dish soaps, bleach, ammonia, hydrogen peroxide or oxygen cleaners, and hot water.
Then follow these steps:
Prep: Scrape away solid debris with a spoon or dull edge. Blot liquid spills with a clean, dry cloth. For larger or deeper spills, continue blotting for several minutes, switching to a fresh dry cloth as needed.
Apply: Apply your chosen cleaner to the stained area.
Treat: Gently work the cleaner into the fibers with a soft cloth or soft-bristle brush, then blot with a clean white cloth until the stain lifts. Do not scrub hard or use stiff or wire brushes.
Rinse if needed: Lightly rinse with clean, cool water and blot until the soap residue is removed.
Dry: Allow the area to air-dry completely.
